Closed System Catheters

Closed System Catheters

Closed System Catheters are intermittent catheters that are connected to a urine collection bag. The catheter has tubing that is connected to the urinary bag. The patient pulls off the cap, inserts the catheter tip into the urethra, pulling out as much of the catheter tubing from the bag as required to reach the bladder. The bladder drains urine directly into the bag. Many closed system kits come with an inducer tip that helps by pass the most amount of bacteria that concentrate in the first few millimeters of the urethra.

There are many reasons why closed system catheters are the some of the best types of catheters on the market and used by most individuals. If you have experienced a UTI (urinary tract infection), you may qualify for closed system catheters which do a great job at helping prevent UTI’s. Closed system catheters not only help prevent against infection but they also are the most convenient and offer the most privacy when self-catheterizing.

Select between a single self-cath that includes only the catheter-in-a-bag or an entire closed system kit or a catheter tray that includes swabs, sterile pad, drape, catheter, and drainage bag.
